Garden - Day Two

Some of the new lettuce just poking through the ground

Some of the lettuce that was planted 10 days earlier than the new lettuce above.  This should be ready to eat by next weekend.

These are some of the cherry tomatoe plants.  My daughter really loves to eat the cherry tomatoes right off of the vine.  These are still small.  They won't be ready to eat until September most likely.
I love the colour of chive flowers.  I love the subtle taste of fresh chives.
This little pea plant looks a little bit bigger than yesterday
This is the watermelon plant that my daughter chose.  I do not know if it will produce fruit.  The soil is not great and the garden is a little bit crowded.  I planted all three shoots that were in the pot I got from the store on the same hill, this may inhibit its growth potential.

Interesting, what does overcrowding mean in a classroom?   If there are too many students, they may not all get what they need.  What does overcrowding a brain with too much information do?  Part of the cycle of learning is space and time to process to allow growth.
